March Sun brings April Snow?
Last weeks images:
Enjoying snack on the deck.
My perennials working on new growth.
Yellow crocuses in full bloom.
Then this morning we woke to this:
Blowing snow and blizzard like conditions. School ended up being canceled but only after four of the buses turned around on their routes and deemed it too dangerous to continue driving. This kind of weather in April shouldn't surprise us, as it happens every year, but when you've been spoiled with a week of sun and warmth, it feels like you're plunging into months of winter again.
We know this weather won't last so we'll just hunker down and enjoy an indoor day. I think this kind of day is a good reminder that God is in control of all things and that He decides when to send sun and rain, snow and frost.
Last week, my sister Diane came to visit for a few days. We had a great time going to the market and driving through the beautiful countryside on one of the days. The following days were spent relaxing; the change of pace was conducive to having tea, chatting and chilling. Since our lives run such different courses it is rare that we have uninterrupted visits. She made a point of capturing our fun with her ever-present camera, and here are the results:

Enjoying apple fritters at the Market.

The ragged looking cast - it finally came off on Friday (to be documented in another blog).

Collecting beer cans and bottles in the ditches. What addicting fun!

Bethany carrying present bags around for her teddy's birthday.

Silas acting like a little stinker, trying to ride the toy like a skateboard :)

Naomi loves colouring and being creative.

tHANK YOU, THANK YOU, i WAS DUE SOME GRANDKIDS PICTURES :O)
Wow, with Mom's complaining, you'd almost think we don't update our blogs often enough or something, Laura! ;o)
I was pleasantly surprised to see an update as well :) Great pictures, and please tell Naomi that her haircut looks lovely! (I'm guessing it's not all that recent, but oh well).
BTW, we'd love to go to the market with you guys some time too...if you don't mind me taking my whole posse along! :o)
Nice blog, Laura! Being at your place really was a special time of fellowship with you and the kids and Colin ... but I didn't see him much - putting in long hours at the office I guess! :) I hope we can do this more often!
Love, Diane
