A New Fashion Statement!

Silas is showing off the new Spring fashions by sporting a very cool cast!

Okay, okay, it's really not that cool, especially since it happened in an 'uncool' way. His big sister Naomi was trying to be very helpful and lifted him up onto the change table to be changed. She then turned her back on him to call for me. In those two seconds, he fell off the table and broke his leg. He had cried all afternoon and so by suppertime I knew something was up with our generally very happy boy. Colin took him to the hospital last night and he has two green stick fractures in his lower tibia and fibula. Naomi feels terrible as Silas did really need to be changed and she loves to take care of him. He has a splint on right now but will need a cast put on in a couple of days when the swelling goes down. This is the first broken bone among our children and of course it had to happen to the only boy. Let's hope this isn't a sign of his future :)

On another note, who needs an ice rink? Last week we had thawing temperatures which turned our front lawn into a lake. A few days later we had a flash freeze overnight that turned the lake into a skating rink. How fun is it to skate around trees and hydro poles!?!?
