Mini Getaway

After school ended, we took a small vacation up to the Owen Sound area. We were gone for three nights to a KOA Kampground and stayed in one of their kamping kabins. This was not our typical camping trip and not the kind of adventure we usually aim for, but it sure was nice for me to have a place to sleep off the ground and be moisture free. We had very nice weather, as it was sunny but cool - just perfect for a pregnant lady :) My parents stayed in another cabin for the same time period which made for good company. We spent the days swimming in the pool, hiking some trails and doing some sightseeing.

Naomi beside her and Anna's tent. There was not enough room in the cabin for all of us.

Grandpa and Grandma B. and Colin getting things set up after a big rainstorm.

The campground had a really nice pond which was well stocked with trout.

Feeding the fish - it was like a feeding frenzy when a piece of bread was thrown to them.

The beautiful specimen.

Anna and Naomi doing cannonballs in the pool. And, yes, we don't obey the rules very well :)

Bethany jumping in.

The beautiful scenery around Lion's Head. The escarpment goes along Georgian Bay, making for great hiking.

The escarpment way in the background.

One evening when we had a campfire it was quite windy. This was our way of making a windbreak.

Silas was content to roast his marshmallow a meter from the fire.

Inglis Falls right outside of Owen Sound. It is on the Bruce Trail and Colin, Grandpa and the three girls hiked from the falls to Harrison Park along that section of the trail.

The valley and river below the falls.

Scenes from the trail.
