Birthday Celebrations

Monday, November 1st was Silas's 3rd birthday. Again, it seems like just yesterday that our only boy was born. He is so much fun and such a contrast to the girls. As you already know, he's all about sports. Right now he is looking forward to putting on some skates and learning hockey this winter. I had a little party for him in the morning with some friends and we also celebrated in the evening together as a family. He had a great day and loved getting all the attention :)

Getting so big! (but still has a habit of keeping his thumb and pointer finger in his mouth :)

Opening his homemade card and present from Bethany.

'Reading' his card from Naomi. She loves Silas very much and took great care in giving him a beautiful homemade card.

Anna really wanted to make Silas a birthday present and, after looking through a beginner's sewing book, found a project to make this hobby horse. She did some of the sewing parts, while I did most of the main construction.

He loves his new horse "Charles" or "Charlie" for short :)

Opening his present from us - a coal Thomas the Tank set.

As you can tell, Silas gets spoiled by his big sisters. They definitely love him a lot and he reciprocates their love by imitating them and playing along with most of their antics. We'll see how this changes as he gets older...

Bethany had Hibernation Day in Kindergarten today. She had to go to school in her pajamas and came home looking like a brown bear. The classroom was decorated like a bear's den and the kids were all allowed to bring flashlights to make for a fun indoors day. Wouldn't it be nice to stay in your pajamas all winter and sleep for a few months? (Okay, I'll take just a month of sleeping...)

Eden celebrated her three month birthday today. She is still a very good baby and is now starting to interact a lot more. Colin and I had her giggling a few days ago. She smiles quite easily (except when I get the camera out) and loves it best when she's at home in her routine.
