It's beginning to feel a lot like...summer!

Last week Friday Colin participated in a fundraising golf tournament for Campfire. He loves golfing and what better way to spend a day than teeing off for a good cause. He was gone for most of the day and evening, so the kids and I headed to Grandpa and Grandma B's for supper and a campfire. They have quite a large backyard for their condo unit and even includes a firepit. It doesn't get used very often but with grandchildren living nearby, it's a good reason to fire it up!

Bethany, Anna and Eden (Naomi was gone to a birthday party.)

Grandpa and Grandma B. enjoying the fire.

Silas trying out another sport - frisbee.

Bethany showing Eden lots of love.

Colin burnt after his day of golf.

The hot coals of the fire.

Colin trying out the new camera on me :)

Today was extremely hot! At one point, our cheap thermometer said it was over 40 degrees celsius - close to boiling :) Our house, though not air conditioned, manages to stay quite cool with everything closed up. The kids like to be outside no matter the temperature and so today, called for the sprinkler to come out to cool off.

Silas and Bethany playing with the sprinkler.

Filling up buckets for a water fight.

The water fight!

A very wet Silas.

Eden enjoying the warm weather.

Eden having some fun with Lady.

While the kids were in the sprinkler, I was chopping up fresh rhubarb for dessert. I cooked the rhubarb and then added strawberry jello to make a nice sauce to go over ice cream. Yummy!
