Busy Times

This past weekend the focus was on family as we had most of my side of the family over for our Christmas get together. We also celebrated my parents' birthdays as they both occur in the month of December. My brother and sister-in-law from the States were there as well and spent a few extra days at our place. We enjoyed getting to know their family better and to also spend time with their newest little girl. Our rink was in perfect skating condition for the big day, even though we had a warm spell earlier in the week. Colin worked almost every night on it to get it just right. This was the result:

Here are some additional pictures of the rink being enjoyed by the many family members this past Saturday. Hockey of course was the main theme :)

Anna was a little miffed that no one wanted to play ringette with her. She eventually traded her ring for the puck :)

After playing so hard outside it was nice to come in and relax with some board games. We had three different games going with all age levels participating. It's so much fun having cousins (and aunts and uncles) to play with!

My new little niece is just so cute that I stole her from my sister-in-law and hid her in one of our kitchen drawers. My other SIL's got in on the action and actually buckled a doll in her carseat to try to fool her into thinking her baby was safely ready to go. It did trick her for a moment but a baby can only be quiet for so long in a drawer. It was worth a try though, eh?!?!

It was definitely a great time and hopefully the next time I come over I can wear my skates and play hockey! :) I'll send you some more photos soon!
