We're Here!

Or there. Or whatever you want to call our original holiday destination. We were in the vehicle for seven hours yesterday getting transported from Lynden, WA to Vernon, BC. Colin's Dad and brother-in-law picked us up from Hope, B.C. where Colin's other brother-in-law dropped us off in the morning. We then drove five hours down the Coquihalla Hwy. in good winter conditions. This highway can be very treacherous in the winter as there are ice and snow covered patches for much of the way. When there is lots of snow there is also risk of avalanches, but thankfully we didn't have to worry about that yet. When we finally arrived, we were welcomed by a great Christmas dinner prepared by Lindsey. We are now quite settled here and are enjoying a day of company for Mom's birthday. We hope to do some skiing and sightseeing in the next few days as it's not so cold here anymore. Here are the pics!

On the Coquihalla Highway - enjoying the scenery.

Gorgeous views!

The kids getting comfortable at Grandma and Grandpa's. Bethany had to copy Grandma by getting a little chair and resting her one leg on the same stool as Grandma. Very cute!

Silas checking things out, very happy to be out of his carseat.

The excellent chef and her assistant.

Please pass along happy birthday to Aunt Nancy for me.
I usually phone but was out shopping in Edmonton all day and then went to the neighbors to watch the Oilers/Canucks game tonight.
Perhaps I'll call tomorrow.
Glad you arrived there safely!
