Winding down

At the end of a school year there are a lot of things that come to an end. This year is no exception, and the last couple of weeks have been quite busy. Here's what we've been up to:

Eden starting young at the piano.

Bethany lost her first tooth! She was very excited that the tooth fairy left her two dollars.

Anna and Naomi had their Spring piano recital at an old age home. Here Naomi is playing her piece accompanied by her teacher, Marilyn.

Anna playing her piece.

Anna and Naomi playing a duet - Ode to Joy. This is also the piece they played for my friend Jacqueline's wedding. They did a great job both times!

All the kids (except for Eden) were enroled in swimming lessons for the Spring session. This was Silas's first time for lessons. It took him awhile to get comfortable doing something without me but he's now over that anxiety :)

The kids skipped out of their year end class trip this year and we went to Guelph Lake Conservation Area instead. None of them were interested in sitting on a bus for two hours each way to the zoo, and we have been to the Toronto zoo numerous times. It was the perfect day to relax at the beach. My friend Jacqueline accompanied us for the afternoon so I enjoyed some nice conversation as well.

Silas testing out the water.

Sand and water fun.

A very empty beach as schools here are not finished the year yet. This beach is usually packed in the summer and we don't tend to go here then.

A happy beach bum :)

Today, Anna had medieval day along with her classmates and the visiting class from Guelph. They had medieval activities all morning and it ended with a medieval feast for lunch (they got to eat everything with their hands). I made almost all of Anna's costume - a medieval archer - and made a medieval apple tart to share with her class. She was quite excited to have a reason to bring her bow and arrows to school :)

All the kids listening to the 'king' for their instructions.

Anna getting ready to join her group for their morning activities. They had to make a banner, as well as a coat of arms, to name/identify their group/clan.
