Busy Weekend

Wow, what a weekend! It started out Friday afternoon when I went tobogganning with Anna's kindergarten class. I dropped Naomi, Matthew and Bethany off at a friend's house and then went to the school to pick up some kids (who all needed their car seats) and then off to the hill. It was quite cold and blustery but the kids didn't seem to mind as they were so busy running up and down the hill. They were treated to hot chocolate and cupcakes afterwards to warm up. Then it was back to the school, back to pick up the rest of the kids, onwards to the grocery store and then finally back home. In the evening we had our old neighbours, Joyce and Kevin, over for supper and a game of Settlers and Seafarers. It was a great evening and Anna had her first real sleepover with their daughter Sylvia.
The next day it was off to Costco to pick up some things for Colin and drop off Matthew. What a zoo that place is on Saturdays! Chandra found us quite easily and we then handed over Matthew. He didn't know what to think of her and when I said, "Bye Matthew!" he replied with, "Bye Mom!" That is what he called me all last week so he must of felt really confused about the whole situation. I'm sure once he got home things would look familiar to him again!
Saturday evening we spent at Guelph church enjoying a potluck dinner with Brian, Tonya and baby Josette. They made a surprise visit to Ontario to show off their new addition. She is so cute! My whole family was able to make it despite the bad winter weather. We are thankful that everyone, especially those traveling to Owen Sound, made it home safely.
Sunday was fairly quiet and we just had some friends over in the evening for wine and cheese. The kids went to bed early as they had had two late nights.
Yesterday we spent most of the day inside as the temperature was negative 20 and even colder with the wind chill. We did manage to go for a walk to the grocery store mid-afternoon to get some fresh air. I sure got my exercise; I pushed Bethany and Naomi in the bike trailer and pulled Anna on the GT toboggan. They sure had nice rosy cheeks when they came in!
Today the sun is shining and although it's cold, the sun makes it seem like it's not so bad. For winter lovers like me it actually seems inviting!

Dad keeps telling me how cold it is in Ontario right now. Brr, I'll let you have it.

Thanks for the pics. Looks like everyone's there ! Always neat to see pictures after you haven't seen some people for awhile.
