What a Scorcher!

The last few days have been unbelievably hot! We set up our little pool on Saturday as we knew it was supposed to get warm the beginning of this week. Sure enough the temperatures have been over thirty degrees with the humidity making it feel like forty. I'm so thankful we have central air conditioning as at least it gives us all a reprieve from the heat when we need it. The kids have been in the pool non-stop since we set it up. Even Bethany wants to go in although I really need to watch her. Most often she has a life jacket on because if she flips over she doesn't know how to get herself back up again. This afternoon the dark clouds have rolled in so we're expecting a typical Ontario thunderstorm. We need the rain badly as our lawn is pretty much dead and the farmers desperately need the water for the crops. Let's hope the rain lasts a little longer than our usual thunderstorms so the ground has a chance to soak it up. I think we'll go to the library this afternoon so we can stock up for our summer reading. Anna is now officially done school and we're all looking forward to a relaxing summer.

Staying cool!

They sure are getting brown from all the sun.

Hey Laura, Matthew has the same problem, so we solved it by putting him in a lifejacket and a ring. The jacket keeps him afloat, and the ring keeps him from falling forward or backward...works like a charm!
