Bethany's Birthday & Canada Day Celebrations!
July 1st was a busy day in our household as Bethany turned two. We had a little party for her after the first church service where she opened her presents, cards and enjoyed cake. She was a little apprehensive about all the attention she was getting but really seemed to enjoy the cake part! The time just flies by and I can't believe that my little girl is two already. She is talking a blue streak now and copies everything the big girls do.
Not so sure about this birthday thing!

Enjoying the cake!
After the second service we decided to drive up to Sauble Falls Provincial Park where my parents and sister were camping for a few days. It was a long drive (two hours north) but we had such an enjoyable time. We ate supper with them around the picnic table and then had a chance to go for a walk to explore the park. Diane stayed behind to clean up while the kids, my parents and us walked through the falls, trying not to get wet, and played on the playground. When we returned Diane had a campfire started so we sat around it for awhile and enjoyed marshmallows and snacks. I had bought giant sparklers for the kids to try out on Canada Day so this added to their excitement. Even Bethany held one without being scared! After warming up around the fire we drove out to the north end of Sauble Beach to watch the fireworks. The girls had never seen real fireworks before so we didn't know how they would react. We were quite far away from them so although we could see them really clearly there was very little noise to accompany them. I think this helped a lot, as when you're really close the big booms can really scare little kids. We finally left at 10:30 pm and arrived home at 12:30 am. What a late night but so much fun! Today the girls started swimming lessons so for the next two weeks we'll be at the pool all morning. That should keep us busy enough for awhile! P.S. Sorry for the barrage of pictures but it's so nice to include them.

Looks like fun! Was it really that chilly last night? We missed Bethany's "birthday song" yesterday because we were at a bbq and came home too late to call, but apparently we would have missed you anyway! Give her a big hug & a kiss from us...
And, we were at Uncle Henry M's birthday and actually forgot Bethany's. I can't believe it !! Here I'd been talking about it and we forgot ! So sorry Bethy, we'll call tomorrow. :o(
Just too many busy days !
Great pictures!! And Bethy, I promise that Aunt Lindsey and "Mr. Art" thought of you on your birthday too! :) We hope you had a very wonderful day. Two years old already, can't believe how quickly time is flying by...
Hi Laura and Colin and girls,
Thought I would give this a try and respond to your blog. I also really enjoyed the evening that you came to Sauble Falls. Your pictures and blog are great. I just got the one developed of all of you and Dad and Mom around the picnic table during supper. Anyway time to go - hope to talk on the phone soon. Stay cool! ... oh I forgot -you are cool already!
Love, Diane
