"Home again, home again, jigetty jig"

No big travel adventure story this time; our trip home was short and uneventful. We arrived at Pearson airport at around 5pm and were at our home by 8:30pm. We stopped at Swiss Chalet for supper on the way to relax and take in the last nine days of holiday fun. Although we had a rough start to our vacation, we thoroughly enjoyed our time with family. It was so nice to 'live' with family during our stay as it meant our family could get to know their cousins, aunts, uncles, and Grandma and Grandpa better. We had just the right amount of busyness to keep occupied but not so much that we were exhausted when we got back. Colin and I were able to go skiing for a day to Silver Star Ski Resort and had excellent ski conditions (Thanks Grandpa and Grandma for babysitting). We were both a bit sore after our day because we're Dutch and want to get in as many runs as possible. It's so much more enjoyable skiing in B.C. than in Ontario - the scenery, height, and conditions just can't compare. We also took the kids swimming twice in Vernon. The pools are also much better in B.C. than in Ontario. They actually design them with kids in mind and have lots for them to do, besides jumping up and down in the shallow end :) This pool had a slide, climbing wall, rope swing, two hot tubs, two saunas, mushroom rain shower, basketball net, animals squirting water, and a couple of diving boards. It was great for the kids to get rid of some of their pent up energy.
We are thankful for the time spent with family and know that despite the distance, it is totally worth the effort and money, to be together. We have many fond memories and can't wait to do it again sometime in the future!

My favourite picture!

Helping Dad in their wonderful kitchen.

Grandma reading the girls a Curious George story.

A nice blue run at Silver Star.

Colin poised to show off his excellent parallel.

More beautiful scenery at Silver Star.

The village.

Bethany cuddling with Aunt Lindsey, at her and Art's house.

Enjoying the hot tub at Art and Lindsey's, great for the aching muscles after skiing.

Well, I better go as we have a couple more family events for the holidays and the company just showed up :)
