Getting soft

This past weekend the Silver Submarine was put to the test. I have to admit that this trailer has 'rocked my world' of vacationing. Doing dishes in a real sink? Sleeping on a real bed? Having a fridge and freezer? This can't be camping! Colin has told me we need to do a week of outback canoeing to whip me back into shape :) In all seriousness though, the trailer was great and we're looking forward to trying it out again.
Our weekend of camping was a time of celebrating. The 'B' family held a get together on Friday, July 1st at the beach and a BBQ afterwards at my sister's house. This was followed by watching a great display of fireworks over the town of Owen Sound. July 1st was also the day that Bethany turned six years old. Here are the pictures of our fun!

Bethany opening her present from us - all the kids get a bible and bible case when they turn six.

Bethany and Naomi sharing a hug after Bethany is quite impressed that Naomi gave her a flower made from salt dough and painted like a rainbow.

Anna helping Bethany read the card she made for her.

The birthday girl with her obligatory Canada Day t-shirt.

Enjoying the pool at the KOA Kampground where we stayed for the weekend. It was hot and sunny every day so we sure got our use out of the pool!

Silas loves the water!

Looking like a pro :)

Another one of our fish.

My Dad trying out his new inflatable kayak (whoever heard of such a thing?) :)

Eden wasn't left alone too often with so many cousins and aunts that wanted to hold her.

Eden loved the pool.

Playing bocce ball - it gets very competitive in my family. So much so that a special measuring tool is used to see who's closer...

Some of the family hanging around and relaxing.

Bethany and her giant birthday cake.

Sparkler fun.

My brother and his family also stayed at the KOA for a couple of nights. We had a campfire together one of the evenings.

The kids getting into the bocce ball.

They were also quite serious about the whole ordeal - our kids sure have a strong sense of justice :)

Once you've camped in a trailer....you'll never go back :)
